Message from the Provincial

Dear friends,

I am most happy to pen this message as the President of the Nirmal Mata Society. I consider it my privilege to be its President. The Nirmal Mata Society was formed with the aim of radiating the compassionate love of God after the example of our Founder Servant of God Joseph Kandathil. He was a catholic priest who belonged to the diocese of Ernakulam – Ankamali Archdiocese who dedicated to the service of the rejected section of the society and founded the congregation named “Assisi Sisters of Mary Immaculate” to serve the lepers. The congregation was founded on 2nd February 1949 at Green Gardens Cherthala, Alleppey, Kerala, India.

Servant of God Joseph Kandathil was a man of prayer and deep spirituality who trusted in divine providence. He is known as “Kerala Damien. Nirmal Mata Society is one of the wings of Assisi Sisters of Mary Immaculate, which functions in Nirmal Mata Provincialate at Lambakheda, Berasia Road, Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh, India. The society aims to carry out the vision and mission of our Founder i.e. To bring together catholic women who desire to live according to the constitution of the Assisi Sisters of Mary Immaculate. They radiate the charism of the Congregation by selfless service to the rejected section irrespective of caste, creed, and culture. We extend our service mainly to Mentally challenged children, Deaf and dumb, Dropouts from schools, English Medium schools in Villages, Women empowerment programs, medical aid in villages through mobile clinics, and Health and hygiene awareness. In these times of uncertainty and change, it is paramount that we hold steadfast to the principles of unity and compassion that our beloved founder has imparted to us. Our Father Founder reminds us through his life and teachings that it is through our unity that we find strength, and through our compassion that we bring healing to the world around us.

In the coming days, let the spirit of our Father Founder and the Lord encourage each one of you to reach out to your fellow members, offer a helping hand to those in need, and extend a listening ear to those who seek guidance. It is only through our collective efforts; we can create a ripple of positive change that emanates far beyond our community.

In closing, I urge you to remember that you are a vital thread in the rich fabric of the Nirmal Mata community. Your actions matter, your words carry weight, and your presence uplifts all.

Our motto is “As long as you did it to the least of my brethren you did it to me.” [Mt. 25:40]
